Main Types Of Car Insurance

Crashes don’t happen only with young and inattentive drivers. Car accidents take place every day with all the different people. You stopped at a traffic light behind a big vehicle that you cannot see around, light turns green, you both start, but then the car ahead of you suddenly stops because some bicycle rider jumped right in front of him. You didn’t see the bike and the stop of the car ahead was so unexpected that you run into him. Or you have to go by working mowers that you have passed safely all of your life. But this time a rock jumps from underneath one of the tractors and breaks your windshield.
Are you protected then? Do you have enough money to fix your vehicle? When unexpected happens, car insurance will protect you and help you to repair your car.
Although it is not required by federal law, all the states have minimum insurance laws that are usually mentioned even in driver’s books.
Liability coverage is required by state law minimum insurance. There are 3 types of it:
1. Property damage liability – replacement and repair of other people’s property if you are held liable for the accident.
2. Bodily injury liability covers other peoples injuries and death if you are at fault.
3. Uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage helps you in case the other driver, who caused the accident, has little or no car insurance.
You also can have other kinds of insurance which might cover you more and help to repair the car or pay for medical expenses. They are also types of insurance coverage, but not required by state law.
1. Collision covers your car repair in case of a car accident when you are liable for the accident.
2. Comprehensive pays to replace or fix your car in case of an accident caused by third party or “act of God” (vandalism, theft, hurricane, flood, etc).
3. Medical payments or personal injury protection insures any medical expenses not resulting from auto accident regardless of who is at fault of the accident.
